Ms. McGuffey has a particular interest in protecting musician’s rights with respect to copyright and licensing. Prior to joining Middleton Reutlinger, Ms. McGuffey gained litigation and regulatory experience through a clerkship at a large public utility company.
During law school, Ms. McGuffey concentrated her education and experience in intellectual property. Ms. McGuffey served as Articles Editor for the UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE LAW REVIEW. She was awarded Best Note for her note about trademark ownership, The New Edition of New Edition: Trademarks, Boybands & Shifting Goodwill, 47 U. LOUISVILLE L. REV. 167 (2008). Ms. McGuffey also received honors for another paper she wrote about copyright royalty rates for the ASCAP Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition. She was a member of the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court team and the Cardozo/BMI Entertainment Law Moot Court teams as well.
Ms. McGuffey is a member of the Kentucky, Louisville and American Bar Associations.
