John M. Matter combines significant litigation experience with an extensive knowledge of business issues. Mr. Matter completed a JD/MBA at the University of Arizona. He subsequently earned a Master of Global Management with distinction from Thunderbird School of Global Management, the premier international business school in the country.

Mr. Matter has more than eight years of civil litigation experience in several areas, including: commercial litigation, class action defense, insurance bad faith, insurance coverage disputes, real estate/lease disputes, workers’ compensation, employment matters, international arbitration, products liability, fraud, partnership disputes, trucking litigation, wrongful death, legal malpractice, medical malpractice and general insurance defense.

Prior to Middleton Reutlinger, Mr. Matter worked for one of the largest civil litigation firms in Arizona and then for a smaller boutique firm in Arizona. While in law school he was a member of the Journal of International and Comparative Law and earned top honors in the first year Moot Court Competition. Mr. Matter is a member of the Louisville, Kentucky, Arizona and American Bar Associations.
